West Lebanon, N.H. — Irvin Preston Davis Jr., 88, died Monday, March 19, 2018. He was born in Bradford, Vt. to the late Irvin P. & Blanche U. (Johnson) Davis Sr. He attended Seminary Hill School in West Lebanon and was drafted by the Army serving between 1951 and 1953. In May of 1951 he married Katherine Bushee. Following his discharge, he returned home and began working as a truck driver hauling milk cans. He drove for Charlie Kelton, Stewart Rousse and Ray Daniels. He then worked as a carpenter for Ben Porter and later retired from Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital.

Irvin enjoyed bowling, camping, hunting and fishing. He was a Dale Earnhardt and John Wayne fan. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 22 of Lebanon, N.H.

He is survived by his six children, Patricia Peters of Williamstown, Vt., Nancy A. Paronto of White River Junction, Vt., Sandra K. White of Chase Mill, N.Y., Michael I. Davis of Canaan, N.H., Charles W. Davis of Vernon, Vt. and Carol Bailey of West Lebanon; a sister, Barbara Sadaques of West Lebanon; a brother, William S. Davis of West Lebanon; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to Irvin’s calling hours at the Ricker Funeral Home in Lebanon on Thursday, March 22 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. His funeral will be held at the West Lebanon Congregational Church in West Lebanon on Friday, March 23 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the West Lebanon Cemetery in West Lebanon.
