Vershire  — The Cemetery Committee will receive $9,500 to spruce up South Vershire, Mountain and Vershire Village cemeteries, thanks to a voice vote on the floor of Town Meeting on Tuesday.

The 50 voters in attendance also approved the proposed municipal budget of about $274,000, about $10,000 higher than the current budget, and a highway budget of $344,000, an increase of about $17,500.

In other voting Tuesday, Sarah McRae Thrasher was re-elected to the Selectboard for a three-year term, Bill Baylis was re-elected to the Planning Commission and Eleanor Zue was elected to another seat on the commission, replacing Chas Cook.
