Hanover — Voters in the two-town Dresden School District approved the $26.5 million school budget and elected unopposed incumbents to the Hanover and Norwich school boards.

The spending plan for Dresden, which covers Hanover High and the Richmond School, passed 1,078-345.

Voters in the Hanover School District approved their $14.2 million budget, 349-60, securing funding for the next year at the Ray School. The total K-12 projected Hanover tax rate is expected to increase about $144 on a $400,000 home as a result.

With the passage of the $5.68 million Norwich School District budget and an additional spending article to offset fifth-grade class sizes at Marion Cross, Norwich residents will likely pay an additional $430 on a property of the same value.
