Thetford Center, Vt. — Carroll Kenneth Bragg passed away with both his wife Frances and his lifelong friend Marcia Hathaway by his side on Monday, Feb. 19, 2018, at the White River Jct. Veterans Hospital after a long battle with cancer.

He was born Feb. 2, 1937, to Kenneth and Alice Bragg of Thetford, Vt.

He is survived by two sisters Rena Jones and Sally Jenks of North Thetford, Vt.; and a brother David of East Calais, Vt.; his wife of 58 years, Frances Bragg (Chaplin) of Post Mills, Vt.; six sons, Richard of Thetford Center, Jeff of Hartford, Vt., Jim of Lebanon, N.H., Dan of Thetford Center, Terry of Sharon, Vt., and Tracy of Henniker N.H.; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.

He worked for many years on road construction before going into logging with his father Ken, then retiring from DHMC housekeeping. In his younger years he enjoyed working in the woods, sugaring, snowmobiling and building little crafts and clocks for his wife to paint. After retirement he enjoyed trips to Maine to visit the coast and the lighthouses with his wife Frances, watching old westerns, watching the wildlife out of the kitchen windows and spending time with the grandkids and his family dog who was their spoiled baby.

Per Carroll’s wish there are no funeral services or calling hours.

The Hale Funeral Home and Cremation Care of Thetford Center are in charge of arrangements.
