East Thetford, Vt. —
Robert was born at Mary Hitchcock Hospital on March 16, 1937, to George and Elinor (Palmer) Evans. He graduated from Thetford Academy, class of 1955.
Robert worked on the farm, Huggett’s Garage 34 years, Bond Optics 18 years. He met many wonderful people.
Robert was not much of a traveler. He did love to go to Wells, Maine, to see the ocean and eat at the Maine Diner and The Egg and I.
Robert always had a large vegetable and flower garden. He looked forward to sugaring in the spring. He loved watching the birds, taking care of his chickens, riding his John Deere tractors. Being outside he was the happiest.
He married Patricia (Tullar) on Sept. 8, 1957. They celebrated their 60th anniversary together.
Robert was predeceased by his parents George and Elinor (Palmer) Evans; uncle and aunt Irvine and Ruth Evans; sister-in-law Jacquline (Tullar) Bailey. Robert is survived by his wife Patricia (Tullar); son Robert Scott and his wife Terri (Shute) Evans; daughter Karen Elizabeth (Evans) and her husband Eric Durkee; and his dog Shadow; sister-in-law Lois (Tullar) and brother-in-law Kenneth Doyle; brother-in-law Lawrence Bailey; several cousins, six nieces and nephews; 13 great-nieces and nephews.
No calling hours. Graveside service at a later date.
