Newpoint, Va. — Susan E. Hart died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, at the age of 77 in her home in Newpoint after a short period of declining health from her battle with cancer. Susan was born Sept. 10, 1940, to Robert and Evelyn Sanborn of Orford, N.H.

She graduated from Orford High school and continued to live in Orford until her marriage to Lawrence Hart and they settled in Etna, N.H.

Susan worked for many years at Mary Hitchcock Hospital and Dartmouth Collage and leaves many colleagues and friends from that period in her life.

Susan enjoyed camping and canoeing and spent many summer weekend camping in Pittsburg N.H. She also enjoyed lawn sales, flea markets, and the large family reunions that were held at the homestead in Orford .

Susan leaves her husband of over 58 years, Lawrence Hart Sr. of Etna and Newpoint; three sons: Lawrence Jr. and wife, Linda of Enfield, N.H.; Douglas and wife Annette of Newpoint; Kevin and wife, Sarah of Etna.

She also leaves a brother, Mark Sanborn and wife, Netlie of Grantham, N.H.; sisters: Corinne Finney and husband, R.Gary of East Hartford, Conn.; Jane Ritter of Saluda, Va.; Rebecca Reed of Beaverlet, Va. and Roxanne George and husband, Charlie of Lebanon, N.H.

Susan leaves three grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and one uncle, Bernard Sanborn.

Susan now joins her parents; two brothers: Robert Sanborn Jr. and David Sanborn; one sister: Donna Finney; and a son, Brian Hart, in heaven.

A very special thank you goes to Hospice of Gloucster, Va. for their compassionate care of Susan and their support of her husband Larry.

There will be no service. A gathering of remembrance will be held in the spring at the homestead in Orford.
