Lebanon, N.H. — Wayne E. Follensbee, 100, passed away Friday, Jan. 5, 2018, at the Hanover Terrace Healthcare in Hanover, N.H. The son of the Late Henry and Kate (McAllister) Follensbee.

Wayne was a lifelong resident of Lebanon. He graduated from Lebanon High School in the class of 1936. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps serving during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. Upon his discharge from the military he left at the rank of Corporal.

On June 25, 1940, Wayne married the love of his life Thema Picard. Together they made there home in Lebanon with their two daughters Susan and Marsha.  

Wayne was a dedicated employee for many years working for HW Carter and Sons in Lebanon. He was a member of the Hartford Elks, VFW of White River and the American Legion in Lebanon. He was also the recipient of the Boston Post Cane on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018.  

He is predeceased by his wife, Thelma; brothers, Frank, Lester, Leonard and Bernard Follensbee; sisters, Jennie Page, Gladys Peabody, Minnie Hastings, Myrtle Lezar and Rayner Allard.

He is survived by his daughters, Dr. Susan Henderson and husband, Clifford of West Lebanon, N.H., and Marsha Smith and husband, Charles of Rural Hall, N.C.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial calling hours will be held Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a memorial service beginning at 11 a.m. at the Ricker Funeral Home in Lebanon.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the building fund for the First Baptist Church in Lebanon.
