New London, N.H. — Richard Lizotte passed away peacefully on Jan. 3, 2018 in his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Fall River Mass. on Sept. 7, 1937, son of Fabiola D. Lizotte and Henry G. Lizotte. 

He graduated from La Mennais Prep in Alfred, Maine.  He received a Bachelors in French at Stonehill College in Easton Mass., Masters of Education from Bridgewater State University, Bridgewater Mass. and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) at UNH.

Dick taught French and Spanish at Norton High School in Norton Mass. He was Headmaster at Haverhill Academy, Haverhill N.H.  He was Principal at KRSD for 25 years and for 4 years at Saint Mary’s Elementary School in Claremont, N.H.

He was a member of Kearsarge Regional Ecumenical Ministries (KREM), a founding member of At Home,  a volunteer at Kearsarge Area Food Pantry, team member of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), Board member of the Hilltop Place Association and past Board member of NL Hospital.  For the last 16 years he volunteered as an enrichment reading teacher for 5th graders at the KRES in New London.

Dick was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.  He loved traveling, gardening, taking AIL classes and was an avid reader.  Mostly, he loved spending his time with family and friends.

Surviving family members include his loving wife of 51 years, Micheline, three cherished sons and daughters-in-law: Chris and Pauline, Geoff and Kristin, and Jay and Jen; beloved grandchildren: Josh, Sophie, Megan and Jakeb, step-granddaughters Xandra and Norah, also dearly loved nieces and nephews:  Jeannine, Bruce, Michael, Laura, Donna, Brian, Mark and their families.  He will be deeply missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial is planned for Jan. 13, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 724 Main Street, New London, NH.
