Raymond, N.H. —
Charlie was born on July 13, 1938 in Boston, Mass., to parents Wanda (Kalnicki) Martell and Charles Martell. He spent his early adulthood in Massachusetts, marrying there in 1957 and welcoming all four children there.
Never one to sit at a desk, Charlie was always employed in physically demanding jobs. He initially worked in Massachusetts as an auto mechanic for Volkswagen. Then, having moved his family to New Hampshire in 1973, he began a house-painting business. Later in life he ran a pallet recycling business.
Charlie was a man of many interests, including model trains, fishing, stamp and coin collecting, and storytelling. He enjoyed social gatherings and often had his accordion by his side.
He found life as a widower to be very difficult and did not like living alone. He will be missed, but his children take comfort in knowing that he is at peace.
At Charlie’s request there will not be a funeral or memorial service.
Ricker Funeral Homes and Crematory of Lebanon and Enfield assisted the family with arrangements.
