Newbury, Vt. —
After attending University of Penn., he worked at American Cyanamid and married Jean Louise Caviliere. A former resident of Tom’s River, N.J. he and his family moved to Vt. in 1975. He later divorced. With fond childhood memories of living on a farm, in Vt. he loved gardening and his barnyard critters.
He enjoyed working as a civil engineer, building inspector, and zoning officer for local municipalities. Despite failing health he was devoted to caring for neglected cats, building a shelter for them. Stan planned for Christmas and New Year’s months in advance, writing poems, anecdotes and aphorisms for family and friends. He was a New England Patriots fan, a John Wayne buff, a model train enthusiast, and ardent Star Trek follower.
Survived by his three sons: Richard of No. Haverhill, N.H., Robert of Colchester, Vt., and Ryan of Newbury; and his longtime companion, Lois Tweedy; also his sister, Shirley Elias of Boltonville, Vt.
We can be comforted knowing Stan is no longer struggling and is at peace. However, if there are any code violations he will kindly let God know about them.
Donations in his memory can be made to your local cat shelter or/and to Little Rivers Healthcare, Wells River, Vt.
The family would like to thank Dr. Genereau and staff at LRHC, DHMC, especially those at Norris Cotton Cancer Center, and Cottage Hospital, Woodsville, N.H. and all family, friends and supporters.
Plans for a memorial celebration of his life will be in the spring.
