Randolph, Vt. —
He was born Nov. 21, 1938 in Franconia, Pa.; the son of Willard &Mamie (Metz) Beidler. He was raised in Telford, Pa. and attended Christopher Dock Mennonite High School. Murray was married to Joanna Mast in Oley, Pa. on Sept. 17, 1960. They lived in Quechee , Vt. for 38 years, then Brushton, N.Y. for 17 years before moving to Randolph in 2016. Murray worked at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center with two years of alternative service time, then 36 years as Director of Materiel Services. He was a member of the Taftsville Mennonite Church from 1960- present , attended Malone, N.Y. Wesleyan Church 2000-2016 then became a member of Bethany United Church of Christ after moving to Randolph. He volunteered for Habitat for Humanity in various chapters and roles including the Upper Valley Chapter where he served as its first President and the North Country Chapter in Malone, N.Y. He was active his entire life with youth and children’s programs and church service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, online Scrabble , reading, environmental stewardship, and the nature around him. Murray’s family was of utmost importance to him.
Survivors include his wife Joanna Mast Beidler of Randolph; sonsDavid Murray Beidler and wife Carmeleta Miller Beidler of White River Junction, Brent Mast Beidler and wife Regina Lutz Beidler of Randolph Center; daughters Brenda Beidler Gordon and husband James Barry Gordon of Moira, NY, and Rebecca Lynn Beidler and husband Jeffery Ellis of Albany, Vt.; sisters, Darlene Alderfer of McAlisterville, Pa. and Thelma Hunsberger of Mt. Pleasant Mills, Pa.; brothers Donald Beidler of Leola, Pa., David Beidler of White River Junction, and Rodney Beidler of Perkasie,PA; grandchildren Levi James Gordon, Trudy Joy Gordon, Abigail Hope Gordon, Laura Blair Beidler, Benjamin David Beidler, Erin Elizabeth Beidler; great-grandchildren Noel, Ellis Marie, Levi James Gordon II . He was predeceased by his parents and brother Willard Beidler.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:30am Saturday, Dec. 16 th at Bethany United Church of Christ in Randolph, with Rev. Kimberly McKerley, officiating. There are no calling hours. A private family burial service will be in the Spring at Taftsville Cemetery.
