Wilder, Vt. — Kathryn (Schoff) Maurer, 84, passed away in the comfort of her home on Tuesday Nov. 21, 2017, where she was surrounded by her family. She was born in Sharon, Conn. to the late Haines Kellogg & Phyllis (Bailey) Schoff on April 6, 1933. Kathryn grew up in Bath, N.H. She graduated from Woodsville High School and then Thompson School of Nursing where she earned her degree to be a Licensed Practical Nurse. Kathryn married Richard F. Maurer, Sr. on June 13, 1953, where they shared 64 wonderful years raising their five children in Wilder. Her career was spent in the Health Care field doing private care in Norwich, Vt. and then at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. Kathryn’s pride and joy were spending summers at their lake house that Richard built on Goose Pond in Hanover, N.H.; which is where wonderful memories have been created with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In her younger years she enjoyed canning, attending “Old Home Days”, Bus Tours and Cruises with friends and family and Bowling where that took them traveling all over the United Sates with friends going to National Championships.

She is survived by her husband, Richard F. Maurer, Sr. of Wilder; five children: Shelia Morse (Doug) of Lebanon, N.H., Richard Maurer, Jr. (Victoria) of Enfield, N.H., Elizabeth Clark (Bruce) of Meriden, N.H., Jacqueline Grasso (Joseph) Wolfeboro, N.H. and Deborah Maurer of Wilder; 12 grandchildren: Stacey Morse Smith, Dustin Morse, Amelia Maurer, Richard (Max) Maurer, III, Kaitlin Clark Bruhmuller, Emma Clark, Halle Clark, Joseph Grasso, Jonathan Grasso, Joshua Grasso, Derek Tobin, Spencer Tobin; and three great-grandchildren: Stella Smith, Dylan Smith and Logan Morse; one brother, Robert Schoff of Ashford, Conn.; two sisters, Barbara Dickerman of Boscawen, N.H. and Ruth Pratt of Saxons River, Vt.; and many nieces and nephews in the New England Area.

She was predeceased by her sister, Judy Gero and in-laws, Frederick & Julia (Zboray) Maurer.
