Quechee, Vt. —
She was born July 26, 1951 in Randolph, Vt. a daughter of Gordon and Janice (Bell) Bennett. Debbie grew up and attended school in Quechee and later attended Hartford High School. She was married to Raymond Nott in 1969 and they raised their family in the Dothan District of Hartford before later divorcing. She was married to Joseph F. Smith in 1992 and they have lived in Quechee since 2004.
Debbie enjoyed gardening and sewing, especially quilting. She was also an excellent cook who was especially good at baking.
She was predeceased by her father and two brothers Nelson and Michael Bennett.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph, of Quechee; four sons, Raymond “Cozzy” Nott II and his wife, Marcy of Hartford, Vt., Lindon Nott of Hanover, N.H., Jason Nott and his wife, Erin of Hartford and Andrew Nott of Hartford; grandchildren, Brooke Lyman, Bailey Nott, Brody Nott and Payton Willey; great-granddaughter, Charlie Lyman; her mother, Janice Thibodeau of Hartford; brother, Gordon Bennett Jr. of White River Jct., Vt.; sisters, Gail Smith of Thetford, Center, Judith Robinson of Sharon, Vt., Pamela Royce of Claremont, N.H., Susan Rogers of White River Jct. and Cynthia Bennett of Phoenix, Ariz.; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., on Tuesday, Nov. 7 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, Nov. 8 at 10 a.m. with committal following in the Hilltop Cemetery in Quechee.
