Norwich
The chain of thunderstorms that passed through the region this summer washed out roads and culverts all over the Twin States, prompting presidential disaster declarations that made available millions of dollars in federal aid.
Norwich officials have said they will apply for reimbursement at an 85 percent rate from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for the work on Turnpike Road and other roads, although this requires the town to first front the money and then ask for reimbursement.
Town leaders here and in Thetford, which also suffered estimated millions in damage, also say they’re hoping to get most of the work done by the end of the year.
