Burlington — Former Royalton police officer John Breault was arraigned on three felony charges Tuesday in connection with drugs authorities say he stole from the police evidence locker to give to a woman with whom he had a sexual relationship.

The 31-year-old Breault had waived arraignment in U.S. District Court in Burlington and was not present, so Magistrate Judge John M. Conroy entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.

Breault, a Randolph resident, is charged with two counts of heroin distribution and one count of marijuana distribution, all from incidents in July. He remains free on conditions.
