Chelsea, Vt. — Helen P. Clarke, 90, died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017, at the Menig Health & Rehab. Center in Randolph Center, Vt. She was born Sept. 8, 1927. in Evanston, Ill., the daughter of George J. and Alice (Hayward) Price. She attended school in Arlington Heights, Ill., graduating in 1945 from Arlington High School.

On Oct. 19, 1958, she married Howard D. Clarke, Jr. in Evanston. They moved to Huntington, N.Y., where she worked for Vic Chemical for seven years and Suffolk County Probation Department for over fourteen years. Following retirement, she and Howard moved to Chelsea in 1995.

She enjoyed decorative painting, quilting, knitting and flower gardening.

She is survived by her husband, Howard Clarke, Jr. of Chelsea; two sons, Thomas H. Clarke of Calverton, N.Y., and Howard D. Clarke, III of Deltona, Fla.; three granddaughters; and a sister, Mary Kingsley of Rye, N.Y.  She was predeceased by a sister, Sarah Dallas.

There will be no public calling hours. A memorial funeral service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the St. John’s Episcopal Church in Randolph, Vt.  A reception will follow the service and burial will follow the reception at the Riverside Cemetery in Chelsea.
