Grafton, N.H. — Mary Louise (Daniels) Gove, 85, of Grafton left us to join her soulmate of 63 years, Paul, early Friday morning, Oct. 13, 2017. Born on Dec. 15, 1931 to Frank Smith Daniels and Mary L. (LaBreck) Daniels in South Weymouth, Mass.  She attended elementary school in Weymouth before moving to Canaan, N.H. and graduated from the Canaan High School in 1949. She met the love of her life while working at the Cozy Corner Restaurant in Canaan and they were married on March 21, 1953 and lived in Twin Mountain briefly before settling down and building their home in Grafton where they lived for over 60 years. Mary was the Town Librarian for 27 years before retiring in 2004. She was a founding member of the Grafton Volunteer Fire Auxiliary, a member of the N.H. State Grange, Eureka Grange and Montcalm Grange, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #97. Mary loved history and was instrumental in keeping Grafton’s history alive. She spent countless hours displaying and sharing the Town’s records and information on Old Home Days with everyone. If you were looking for information about Grafton chances are that Mary had it or knew where to locate it. She worked in the School Food Service at the Canaan Elementary School for 24 years when they actually “cooked” food for the students and enjoyed seeing these students grow up and then fed their children during her years there along with her grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, her step-sister Peggy Clay of Quincy, Mass., and most recently, her brother, Frank S. Daniels, Jr. of Newport as well as her husband, Paul Gove.

Survivors include her son, Paul Alan Gove and wife, Cynthia, of Enfield; her daughter, Barbara Belloir and husband, Douglas of West Canaan, three granddaughters; Cheryl (Gove) Tourville and husband Edmund of Canaan, Jill (Gove) Feen and husband Geoffrey of Plainfield, Cassie (Belloir) Johns and husband Aaron of Dorchester and three great-grandsons; Matthew and Timmy Tourville and Dylan Johns. Along with many nieces and nephews.
