Alice Peck Day Appoints Interim Chief Nursing Officer

Lebanon — Barbra Brown has been named interim chief nursing officer and vice president of nursing at Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital.

Brown earned her nursing diploma at St. Mary of Nazareth School of Nursing, her bachelor’s degree in nursing at DePaul University, and her master’s degree in administration at Columbia Pacific University. She also attended the Wharton School for Executive Education and is a licensed registered nurse in New Hampshire, Vermont, Illinois and Massachusetts. Brown has held faculty appointments at Graceland University, University of Southern California, Grand Valley State University and Andrews University.

Brown previously served as chief nursing officer and vice president of patient care services at Trinity Health in Minot, N.D. She served in similar roles at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, Vt., and Cottage Hospital in Woodsville.

“I am excited to have the opportunity to join the team at APD as the organization has deep roots in the community,” Brown said in an email.

Brown “brings 40 years of experience and leadership to this crucial role,” APD President and CEO Sue Mooney said in a news release. “While we search for a permanent leader, I’m confident in her ability to lead our nursing staff.”

New London Hospital Adds New Physician

New London — Rebecca M. Wood, of Etna, has joined the internal medicine practice at New London Hospital.

Wood is a recent graduate of the primary care track in Dartmouth-Hitchcock’s Internal Medicine Residency Program. Originally from Maine, Wood received her medical degree from Tufts School of Medicine in Boston and worked in critical access communities including New London and Norway, Maine, prior to joining the New London Hospital Medical Group.
