Heather Newcomb, granddaughter of Louise James of Hartland, has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel in the Air Force Reserve. Newcomb is serving as director of public affairs with Air Reserve Personnel Center, Buckley Air Force Base, Colo. She has served in the military for 16 years. She is the daughter of Dick And Marcia Newcomb of Georgetown, S.C. and the granddaughter of Jane Newcomb of Wolfeboro, N.H. She graduated in 1997 from Kingswood Regional High School, Wolfeboro, and earned a bachelor’s degree in 2001 from Norwich University, Northfield, Vt.
