All nine seats are up for election for two-year terms. Residents can run for one of three ward seats, four at-large seats, mayor and assistant mayor.
According to the city clerk’s office, incumbent Mayor Charlene Lovett and Ward II incumbent Scott Pope have filed, as has former Democratic state Rep. Andrew O’Hearne, a retired Claremont police officer, who is running for the Ward I seat.
Ward I incumbent Carolyn Towle previously announced she would not seek re-election for health reasons and one of the at-large seats is vacant after Allen Damren was appointed assistant mayor to succeed Vic Bergeron who moved out of the area at the end of August.
