Woodstock — Police are searching for a camper suspected of hitting the Taftsville Covered Bridge on Wednesday.

A driver possibly hauling a “Goose Neck” camper struck the bridge, leaving its ceiling damaged and pieces of the camper behind, according to a post on the Woodstock Police Department’s Facebook page.

Portions of the camper’s roof and insulation were found as far east as Center of Town Road in Quechee, police said, adding the driver likely fled toward Interstate 89.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the police department at 802-457-1420.
