Haverhill, N.H. —
Chrystal was born in Haverhill, N.H., on Oct. 20, 1972, to Stephen R. Lewis and Irene (Thayer) Lewis Fournier. She was a graduate of Woodsville High School, Class of 1990 and from the Concord Academy of Hair Design in 1991.
She began her career at Oxbow Hair Design in Bradford, Vt., prior to opening The Dragonfly Den in Wells River, Vt., in 2006, along with her sister, Cassidy and Ashley White Griffin. When Chrystal was younger, she worked alongside Dr. Edwin Blaisdell, where she developed a great love for animals and gained great knowledge for the health and care of all animals.
Chrystal loved horses, doing hair and make-up, and making her clients feel special. Her eyes and smile could light up a room. She was a protector of all those she loved. Family was very important to Chrystal and she deeply loved her son, Stephen. They are all “Family Strong.”
She was predeceased by her father, Stephen R. Lewis on Oct. 9, 1988, by her paternal grandparents Liberty Lewis on June 30, 1996, and James Lewis, Sr. on Oct. 26 2010, and her maternal grandparents Harold Thayer on March 25, 1976, and her beloved grandmother Evelyn K. Thayer on March 7, 2013.
She is survived by her son, Stephen Aldrich of North Haverhill, N.H.; her parents, Irene Fournier and husband Ron of North Haverhill; two sisters, Cassidy VanNamee and husband Aaron and their children, Derek and Evelyn of Wells River and Lee Ann Fournier of South Ryegate, Vt.; her aunts, Audrey Clough and husband Sam of North Haverhill and their family, Katie Thayer and husband Scott Darling of Wells River and their family, Jody Engle and husband Pudge of Wells River, Vt. ; her uncle, James Lewis, Jr., and wife Alana of Littleton, N.H., and their family; her former husband, Mark Aldrich and partner Stacey LaBonte of North Haverhill; along with a large circle of friends from the draft and mini horse pulling community.
There will be no calling hours.
A memorial service will be on Wednesday, Aug. 23, at 11 a.m., at the North Haverhill Fair Grounds, (Pulling Ring), 1299 Dartmouth College Highway, North Haverhill. Refreshments will follow. Please dress casually.
A private burial will be observed by Chrystal’s family.
