Tunbridge, Vt. — Levi F. Barnaby, 89 died on Sunday, July 30, 2017, at his son’s home in Tunbridge.

He was born Feb. 24, 1928, in Tunbridge, the son of Forrest and Jessie (Hoyt) Barnaby. He attended school in Tunbridge before going to work at a young age.

On Dec. 28, 1949, he married Elsie A. Wood and lived all their married life in Tunbridge. Following Elsie’s death Sept. 21, 1999, he lived for over 10 years with his long time companion, Alice Oja in Tunbridge. For the last five years he has lived with his son, Kevin.

Levi was a logger for over 50 years. He worked first with his brothers, Edward “Skee” and Richard as Barnaby Brothers Logging, then for many years with just “Skee.” He also logged with Albert Knudsen and later Doug Densmore before he retired.

He is survived by two sons, Kevin W. Barnaby and Elbert “Dick” Barnaby, both of Tunbridge; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Edward Barnaby of Tunbridge; two sisters, Beverly Burnor of Windsor, Vt. and Marilyn Vesper of Tunbridge; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife, Elsie Barnaby on Sept. 21, 1999; two brothers, George Barnaby and Richard Barnaby; and three sisters, Bessie Roberts, Evelyn Ritter and Gena Moses.
