Shirley Marion (Sanders) Creighton

West Lebanon, N.H. — Shirley Marion (Sanders) Creighton, 84, of West Lebanon, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, June 9, 2017. She was born in Lebanon on April 29, 1933, the daughter of Harold & Dorothy Sanders (Baldwin). She grew up in Grantham and attended school in Lebanon. In 1956 she married Wendell Creighton, Sr. and together they raised five beautiful children between homes on Cape Cod and Lebanon. She worked for Purity Supreme for 33 years as a meat wrapper retiring in 1994. Shirley loved people and was quite the social butterfly which led her to be a slot machine clerk in Las Vegas and most recently a cashier at K-Mart.

Shirley enjoyed traveling across country with Wendell to their home in Las Vegas as well as family vacations to Hawaii, Delaware, Atlantic City, Myrtle Beach, Fla. and the Bahamas with her children and grandchildren. Gambling was her favorite pastime and she would enjoy many trips to Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods with her family. Shirley had a love of life, her family, the Game Show Network, Fox News, her cat Oliver and of course going to Kenny Chesney concerts (her Favorite)! She had a heart of gold and a smile as big as the sky and was simply known as Nana to all who met her!

She is survived by two sons Wendell Creighton Jr. & wife Sherry of West Lebanon, Silas Creighton & wife Loretta of Lebanon; three daughters, Martha Burnham & husband Rodney of Felton, Del., Beatrice LaRocco of Yarmouthport, Mass., Shirley Davis & husband Randy of Ascutney, Vt.; grandchildren Colleen Meeker, Thomas (TJ), Micheal, Megan & Brianna Creighton, Steven, Scott & Kevin LaRocco, John, Joseph & Roland McKinney, Angela Johnson, Jennifer Ruiz. Christina Hartman, Cheryl Kemmer, Stacy Montejo, Daniel Sparrow, Christopher Burnham; also great-grandchildren; and a few great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Shirley was predeceased by her husband of 56 years Wendell in 2012, an infant son, her parents, sisters Maxine (Betty), Dorothy (Dot) and brother Harold (Skeeter), son-in-law Albert “Bert” LaRocco, and granddaughter Samantha.

A celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 16 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the American Legion in Windsor, Vt.
