Melissa T. Meyer

Durham, N.H. — Melissa died in her home in Durham on Friday, June 16, 2017. She had been diagnosed with a brain tumor in February, and for the next four months her family supported and cared for her at home. She was a strong woman, and left us peacefully on her own terms. We are planning a family service as she wished.

Melissa and her family lived on Gove Hill in Thetford for 27 years. During that time she worked as a visiting nurse, a volunteer in the costumer shop at Northern stage, and as a caregiver with Good Beginnings. She leaves behind many mothers and new babies who loved her dearly.

Flowers, birds, the mountains, her cats and her family were her loves. Her lilies, peonies and ladyslippers were magnificent. She taught her six grandchildren to love the outdoors during annual camping trips in Vermont State Parks, and she taught them all to ski at the Dartmouth Skiway.

Melissa’s compassion, caring and love had, and will continue to have, a lasting impact on her husband, children and grandchildren. We all miss her.
