Grantham
John Parsons will take over as police chief on July 8, succeeding Chief Walter Madore, who is retiring.
Parson has been on the Grantham force since 2006 and has been serving as a sergeant and police prosecutor.
A Grantham residence since 1999, he previously worked for Lebanon police and as a law enforcement officer with the National Park Service in New Jersey, according to a news release from the town.
Grantham has scheduled a “Meet the New Chief” event from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on June 26 at the Town Office Building on Route 10.
