Claremont — Jerry and Amy Maslan, of Claremont, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Elisabeth Mary Maslan, to Jesse James Schaal.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Robert and Mary Maslan, of Cornish, and the late Barbara Roberts, of Newport. She graduated from Stevens High School in 2010, earned a bachelor’s degree from Southern New Hampshire University in 2014 and a master’s degree in higher education from New England College in 2015. She is employed at FitKids in Lebanon.

The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Todd and Marcy Schaal, of White River Junction, and the grandson of Peter and Gail Schaal, of White River Junction, and the late Jack and Timmie Barber, of Windsor. He graduated from Hartford High School in 2010 and from the Vermont Correctional Academy in 2016. He is employed at the Southeast State Correctional Facility in Windsor.

The couple live in White River Junction and are planning an October garden wedding at the Cornish home of the bride-to-be’s godfather, Leo Maslan, and his wife, Kathleen Maslan.
