“We always have some people who randomly show up with their cool cars,” said Cornish fire Capt. Mike Boutilier.
This is the department’s third year hosting the show since taking it over from the eighth-grade class at Cornish Elementary School. Last year, the show raised nearly $7,000 from a combination of admission by donation, refreshment sales, raffles an door prizes. “This is a big one,” Boutilier said of the fundraiser, which benefits more than the fire department. “We offer a scholarship every year,” Boutilier said. “We offer money to different local organizations.”
Cars from many decades will be represented, including Model A’s. “I like to see the older muscle cars,” Boutilier said. “I’m kind of partial to the Chevy Novas.”
Those and more will be on display from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Cornish Fairgrounds, 294 Townhouse Road. The rain date is June 4. Admission is by donation and refreshments are available to purchase. For more information, call 603-675-2056.
