Loris, S.C. — Dona Lynn Herschel-Wilson, 63, loving wife and mother, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2017, surrounded by her loved ones at her home in Loris.

Dona was born in Claremont, N.H. on Jan. 8, 1954, to her late parents Clarence and Faustene (Hill) Hershel.

She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Terry Wilson whom is currently residing in Loris. She is also survived by her brother, Dale Herschel and his wife, Sharon (Russell) Herschel of Claremont; and many nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Tonia (Cutter) Maccioli and Robert Maccioli both of Claremont; her stepchildren and spouses, Jeremy Wilson and Andrea (Limoges) Wilson, Fawna Wilson, Misty (Wilson) Boutin and Michael Boutin.

She was blessed and honored to have many grandchildren whom meant so much to their Oma. Ravin Thibodeau, Natelie Wilson, Megan Wilson, Adrieanna Maccioli, Kaleb Maccioli, Austin Gauld, Payton Boutin, Jaidin Wilson and Emery Boutin.

Dona was a woman whom loved to cook and shared her skills in the kitchen with many. She was a wonderful seamstress and made beautiful costumes for her grandchildren, quilts for her family and friends, and even made clothing. Dona had appreciation for nature and the outdoors. She enjoyed being out in the country, out of the every day hustle of the city. She enjoyed planting and gardening, sitting by a bonfire or pond fishing. Most of all she thoroughly enjoyed the time she was able to spend with her family, friends and playing with her grandchildren.

Dona grew up in Windsor, Vt., where she and her husband raised their children, before their decision to follow the sun to Loris in 2002. Dona graduated from Windsor High School in 1972 and in 1973 became a graduate of Sheldon Beauty Academy in Burlington, Vt. She was a licensed cosmetologist for several years.

Dona helped her parents operate The Herschel Home in Windsor for several years providing loving care for all of the residents during her time she resided in Windsor. She later obtained employment at Bass Pro of Myrtle Beach, S.C. when she moved south with her husband, Terry. Dona worked at Bass Pro for a few years, where she superceded all expectations and became noticed quickly for her work ethic, ability to work in a team setting, attention to detail and her exemplary customer service skills.

Please join her family and friends with a Celebration of Life at the Claremont Senior Center, June 4, 2017, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

A graveside service will be held with immediate family at another date.
