West Hartford
The West Hartford Farmers Market will debut June 7 and continue on Wednesdays, from 4-7 p.m., through Sept. 13 on the grounds of the West Hartford Library.
Organizer Judy Roberts, a library trustee, has been trying to think of ways to raise awareness of the library, which is located on Route 14, a busy commuter road.
“This was one of my thoughts,” Roberts said in a telephone interview earlier this month. “It’s just the beginning. … I’m assuming that it won’t be gigantic.”
Recently, she has been working to spread the word about the market, which provides free space for vendors. She hopes to enlist people selling vegetables, fruits, baked goods, homemade crafts, prepared foods, plants and such.
