Laconia, N.H.
Jennifer Tozzi, 34, was transported from the Belknap County Jail in Laconia, where she was serving a sentence on a wilful concealment conviction, to Lakes Region General Hospital on May 9. She died there days later.
Citing confidentiality concerns, Hathaway declined to go into specifics on Tozzi’s death. To the best of his knowledge, the illness didn’t stem from her incarceration, he said.
Jamie Laramie, with the Belknap County Department of Corrections, said Tozzi came to his facility on May 1 and was serving a 10-day sentence — reduced from 90 days.
Tozzi, of Claremont, and Debra Pitts, 31, also of Claremont, allegedly attacked a Dominos delivery driver when he delivered a pizza to Pitt’s Trinity Street residence on April 15.
Tozzi’s criminal case has been dismissed, Hathaway said.
