South Royalton, Vt. — Phyllis M. Boles, 76, died Friday, May 12, 2017, at her home in South Royalton, with her family by her side. She was born July 7, 1940, in Brookfield, Vt., the daughter of Willis Edward and Glenna May (Kennett) Parker. She attended school in Brookfield and Chelsea, Vt., where she graduated from Chelsea High School. She lived with her sister Marion while attending high school in Chelsea. On June 14, 1957, she married Donald Boles of South Royalton. They lived in Rochester, East Bethel and Royalton, where they farmed, a short time in Hartland, before moving to South Royalton. Donald died April 24, 2001.

She had worked at the Woolen Mill in Quechee, Vt., Files & Rice in Bethel, Vt., Blanchard & Blanchard in Wilder, Vt., General Dynamics in Hartland, Vt. and 22 years at G.W. Plastics in Bethel.

She was a member of the United Church of South Royalton and the Ed Larkin Contra Dancers.

She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, bingo, and square dancing. She loved to take pictures and spend time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Paul Boles of Sharon, Vt., and Steven Boles of South Royalton; two grandchildren, Darren Boles and Lindsey Boles; three great-grandchildren, Cole Martell, Ellyana Martell, and Rylynn Martell; her longtime friend, Sid Godfrey of South Royalton; a brother, Edward Parker of Hartford, Vt., three sisters, Jean Flint of Albany, N.Y., Evelyn Green of Meredith, N.H., and Joyce Potwin of South Royalton; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Donald in 2001; three brothers, Clayton Parker, Clinton Parker and Paul Parker; and six sisters, Doris Bjorkman, Marion Gilman, Nancy Potwin, Ruth Brown, Lottie Chubbuck and Irene Parker.

Calling hours will be held Friday, May 19, 2017, at from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Boardway and Cilley Funeral Home, 300 Vt. Rte 110, Chelsea Vt.. Immediately following the calling hours a graveside funeral service will be held at the Branchview Cemetery in South Royalton, with Pastor Josh Moore officiating. Following the service a potluck fellowship will be held at Phyllis’s house in South Royalton.
