Hanover — Dartmouth’s Kathryn Giroux broke an Ivy League record for draw controls in a single season on Saturday as the Big Green women’s lacrosse team concluded its season with a 12-8 win over Brown at Scully-Fahey Field.

Yale’s Nicole Daniggelis set the previous record, 104, during the 2014 season. Giroux’s seven draws gave the second-year midfielder 108 for the season.

Senior Taryn Deck and sophomore Kierra Sweeney led the team with four points apiece against the Bears. Deck provided four goals in her final game for the Big Green. Dartmouth finishes its season 7-8 overall, 2-5 in Ivy League play, and winners of its last two.

Baseball

Hanover — The Big Green split their doubleheader against Harvard at Red Rolfe Field and dropped out of contention for the Rolfe Division title.

Dartmouth junior Kyle Holbrook and freshman Michael Calamari each hit home runs to back up the pitching work of senior Michael Danielak in game one. Harvard put together a six-run eighth inning to erase a five-run deficit.

Dartmouth (21-16-1 overall, 10-8 in Ivy) finishes its season with a doubleheader on the road against Harvard today.

Men’s Tennis

Colby-Sawyer 9, MCLA 0Colby-Sawyer 6, Thomas 0

New London — The No. 1 Chargers captured their sixth consecutive North Atlantic Conference East Division championship at Colby-Sawyer’s Kelsey Courts.

Colby-Sawyer (13-10) will play Penn State Berks (10-5), winners of the NAC West Division title, in the NAC/NEAC crossover championship.

Big Green Wins Pre-Conference Meet

Amherst, n.h. — Dartmouth’s Alec Eschholz and Parker Johnson took the top two spots in the men’s 400-meter hurdles event at the UMass Pre-Conference Meet, helping the Big Green to the top of the team standings with 159 points.

Dartmouth freshman Michael Thurston won the 800 and freshman Shawn Ohazuruike won the 110 hurdles. Timothy Brennan and Colin Minor took the top two spots in the hammer throw.

Dartmouth’s women took third.

Women’s Crew

Green Takes Parents’ Cup

Ithaca, n.y. — Dartmouth claimed the Parents’ Cup on Cayuga Outlet, defeating host Cornell for the first time in three years in the Big Green’s season finale.

Dartmouth won the trophy by virtue of its victory in the varsity eight. Coxed by Katie Erdos and stroked by Samantha Hawley, Dartmouth completed the course in 6 minutes, 50.6 seconds for an eight-second win over the Big Red.

Big Green rowers also took the third varsity race, while Cornell swept second varsity and two divisions of fours.

Men’s Crew

Packard Cup Comes Home

Syracuse, n.y. — The Big Green swept host Syracuse in four races to claim the Packard Cup to close the season.

Dartmouth started by taking a three-second win at first varsity with a time of 5:58.6. The second varsity also got off to a quick start and claimed a 4½-second decision in 6:02.0. The Big Green’s third varsity won by five seconds, and both fours outstroked Syracuse.

Lights Finish Season

Ithaca, n.y. Dartmouth’s lightweights ended their season at the Cayuga Lake Inlet competing for the Baggaley Bowl, awarded to the winner of the varsity eight race between Dartmouth and Cornell.

The Big Red retained the trophy by taking the first varsity in a winning time of 5:52.9.
