Springfield, N.H. — Ronald A. Post, 83, passed away Monday, April 17, 2017. Ron, a resident of Eastman, was born on Aug. 15, 1933 in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. to the late Samuel D. and Mary (Amato) Post. He graduated from Rhinebeck High School in the class of 1951. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Japan and the Philippines until 1955. Upon return, Ron started a successful career with IBM in marketing and sales that would last 35 years. Following IBM, Ron owned Mt. Kisco Power Equipment with his brother-in-law Bob Mann for several years, in Mt. Kisco, N.Y.

Ron was a lifelong hunter, fisherman, and all around outdoors enthusiast. Throughout his life he enjoyed sailing boats, racing cars and flying planes. Retired life in N.H. offered opportunities to return to his favorite past times. Summers would find him racing sailboats in Lake Sunapee’s Cruising Fleet or just paddling around Eastman. He never missed a Saturday on the skeet field (weather permitting) until last October. He still had “it” at 83. He loved cooking pasta for his family every Thursday and rarely turned down a card game, especially cribbage.

He is survived by his wife, Rita (Leary) Post, with whom he would have celebrated 50 years of marriage next month. He is also survived by four sons, Donald, Brian, Jason and Andrew, all of New Hampshire, a granddaughter Rowan, and a large extended family.

The funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, April 24 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Augustine’s Church in Ossining, N.Y.
