Doreen E. Hunt

Charlestown, N.H. – Doreen E. Hunt, 88, died Sunday morning, April 9, 2017 at the Sullivan County Home in Unity, N.H. She was born Feb. 10, 1929 in Ludlow, Vt., the daughter of William C. and Dora (Fuller) Williams. Doreen graduated from Black River High School in Ludlow in 1947. A year later she married George F. Hunt in the Baptist Church in Ludlow they made their home in Wilder, Vt. Following her divorce of Mr. Hunt in 1980 she was married to James G. Kivler in November of 1981 in Norwich, Vt. and made their home in Charlestown. They were divorced in 1998.

Along with being a homemaker for her family, Doreen also worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at several local Retirement and Nursing Homes as well as Community Health Services in the Keene and Charlestown area. In later years she was employed by Community Action Program of Concord, N.H. as a Senior Companion to the elderly. She enjoyed caring for the elderly.

She was predeceased by a son, William G. Hunt who died in 1994; a sister, Dorma Kivler in 1974; two brothers, Duane Williams who died in 1986 and David Williams who died in 2013; and a granddaughter.

Doreen is survived by four daughters, Marsha Sargent of Hartland, Vt.. Melinda Hunt of Enfield, N.H., Marie Matranga of Claremont, N.H., Melissa Nelson of Bellows Falls, Vt.; a step-daughter, Sandra Kivler of Claremont; three grandsons; a great-granddaughter; as well as nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Ludlow, Vt.
