San Bernardino, Calif. — A suspect and another adult are dead and two children are critically wounded following a shooting today at an elementary school.
A San Bernardino police official said the two wounded children were not the targets.
The shooting took place in a classroom.
“The children we do not believe were targeted,” Police Capt. Ron Maass said. “The suspect had come to the classroom to visit. The adult female was in the classroom.”
Police did not identify the shooter or the teacher.
The weapon was a handgun, police said.
