Piermont — Fewer than 50 voters approved the Piermont School District budget of $2,180,712 and all other articles during the annual School Meeting on Tuesday night.

“It was very smooth,” Moderator Joyce Tompkins said.

The meeting took about half an hour, she added, and all articles passed by a voice vote.

“There was a little discussion, a few questions, but everything was calm,” Tompkins said.

In addition to the school budget, warrant articles to add $20,000 to a special education expendable trust fund, $15,000 to a tuition expendable trust fund and $3,000 to a technology expendable trust fund all were approved.

Last Tuesday during all-day ballot voting on Town Meeting Day, School Board Chairman Vernon Jones was re-elected to the panel.
