Enfield — Town Manager Steve Schneider announced that he will step down at the end of the month to take a job in regional planning. Schneider has accepted a job as executive director of the Upper Valley Lake Sunapee Regional Planning Commission, according to a news release from the Enfield Selectboard. His final day in Whitney Hall will be March 31.

Schneider will replace former executive director Nate Miller at the commission. Miller, who held the post for 2 years, announced his intention to step down in August in order to take a job in Manchester. He was replaced in the interim by former Hanover Planning Director Jonathan Edwards. Schneider is Enfield’s representative to the 27-town commission and recently served as its chair. After his departure from Enfield, Assistant Town Manager Alisa Bonnette will take over his responsibilities until a new manager is appointed.

Enfield is in the process of searching for a replacement, according to the Selectboard. Candidate interviews are scheduled for late April.
