Wells, Maine —
Born in Barre, Vt., on Dec. 9, 1947, Ron was the son of Leon and Jeannette (Benoit) St. James. He grew up in White River Junction, Vt., and attended Harvard University before being drafted to serve as a medic in the 101st Airborne in Vietnam from 1967 to 1969.
Ron married Anne Robichaud July 11, 1970, and received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Vermont in 1973 and his Master’s in Social Work from the University of Connecticut. He and Anne raised their two daughters and a droop of basset hounds in Lebanon, N.H., moving to Wells, Maine, in 1991.
He spent his career as an Accredited Clinical Social Worker, writing and teaching in his spare time.
Ron is predeceased by his parents and brother Michael St. James. He leaves his wife of 46 years, Anne St. James; two daughters, Terri-lee Couture and Michelle St. James; three grandsons, Ryan, Justin, and Devin Couture; three sisters, Donna Sullivan, Laurel St. James-Long, and Linda St. James; one brother, Robert St. James; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a gathering to celebrate Ron’s life by sharing and hearing stories of his exploits on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Road, Wells.
