Claremont, N.H. — Ethel “Edwina” Hawkins, born in Philadelphia, Pa., was peaceably called home on Saturday, Dec. 24, 2016, after a valiant battle with cancer.

Edwina retired from Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Delaware and later moved to New Hampshire where she worked at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center for seven years.

Edwina is survived by her son, Erron Thomas; her mother, Louise Russell; her brother, Larry Russell; and her husband, Walter Hawkins and was predeceased by her father, Edward Russell.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at; Plainfield Community Baptist Church, 1094 Route 12A, Plainfield, NH 03781, on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at 11 a.m.
