Arcadia, Fla. —
He was born in Brattleboro, Vt. on Dec. 2, 1938, the son of Donald and Edith (Fitzgerald) Allen. William entered the Army in 1956 and was honorably discharged in 1962.
He is survived by his sister, Anne White (Thomas) of Hartland, Vt.; his loving wife of 60 years, Jean (Simmons) Allen; his three children, James of Ft. Meyers, Fla., Elizabeth of White River Jct., Vt. and Kim Dean (Douglas) of South Sutton, N.H.; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Fred.
Bill loved the outdoors; he was an avid skier, sailor and golfer. He will be greatly missed by friends and family.
A celebration of life will be held at Sunnybreeze Golf Course, Arcadia at a later date.
A graveside service will follow in Brattleboro in the summer of 2017.
