Woodstock, Vt. — Ellen P. Booth, 101, died peacefully on Saturday evening Nov. 26 at the Merten’s House in Woodstock, Vt.  A long- time resident of the Homestead, she had  moved to the Merten’s House in August of this year.

Ellen was born April 25, 1915 in Sherburne, Vt., the daughter of Ernest and Mabel (White) Pinney.

She was educated in Rutland, Vt., and  married Harlan H. Booth, of Bridgewater,  on Dec. 31, 1935.  With Harlan, Ellen was instrumental in starting  H. H. Booth Lumber and Chair Stock, their own lumber  business,   in Bridgewater and she  served as the bookkeeper of this company for many years.

Ellen also served as Bridgewater Town Treasurer and worked as a bookkeeper for the Dana Insurance Co. in Woodstock for many years. She was an active member of the Church of Our Savior in Sherburne, serving as treasurer there for 26 years. She was also an active member of the Wednesday Night Club in Bridgewater.

She is survived by her daughters,  Mary Jenne, of Bridgewater Corners; Barbara Williams, of Venice, Fla.; her son,  Harold Booth, of Bridgewater;   6 grandchildren,  and 13 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is pre- deceased by her husband, Harlan, and a sister, Edna Jasmine.

A memorial service will be held at the Church of Our Saviour on Saturday,  Jan. 7, at 2 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of Our Saviour, or the American Cancer Society, which Ellen supported for many years.
