New London, N.H. — Dianne “Dixie” Dorley, 86, of Barrett Road, died peacefully on Monday, Dec. 12, 2016 at Lebanon Center Genesis Healthcare.

She was born in Boston, Mass. on April 22, 1930. She graduated from Newton, Mass. North High School in 1948 and Lasell Junior College in Newton.

Dixie was married in 1953 and moved to North Sutton, N.H. and then to New London in 1963. She was a member of The First Baptist Church of New London. She enjoyed music, visiting and traveling. Dixie was very much a part of the workings of Sutton and New London. Her friends and family were extremely important to her. She could sit down and chat for hours with her friends. She was also very interested in Muster Field Farm in Sutton and supported their work and visited frequently.

Her husband, Arthur J. Dorley, Jr., died in 2011 and she was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Yanni Constantindis. She is survived by four daughters, Hilda and her husband, Skip Lyon of New London, Susie and her husband, David Hatfield of Peabody, Mass., Deborah and her husband, Konrad Kotrady of Durham, Conn. and Jenny Dorley of Gainesville, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Jason, Christopher, Hillary, Allen, Whitney, Alex, Stefan, Alex and Zoe and one great grandson, Kai.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016 at 11 a.m., at The First Baptist Church of New London. Burial will be in Old Main Street Cemetery, New London in the spring.
