A look at some athletic facilities projects in the Ivy League during the past decade:

Brown: New stadiums for baseball and softball will open this spring at a cost of $5 million. Four years ago, the university opened a $27 million center for swimming and diving (including a million-galloon pool), fitness and strength and conditioning. A new field hockey stadium was built in 2012.

Columbia: The Lions will soon install an air-supported fabric โ€œbubbleโ€ over their soccer field that will give them 92,000 square feet of practice space. Columbia will join the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard as Ivy League members with such indoor facilities. The schoolโ€™s soccer stadium was renovated in 2007, and in 2012 it opened a $30 million structure housing offices for seven sports plus a weight room, study hall and a dining hall.

Cornell: Hoy Field, home of the Big Red baseball team, underwent $2.7 million worth of renovations in 2007. The squad was Ivy League runner-up in 2009 and champion in 2012. Lynah Rink was renovated during 2006 for $7.3 million.

Harvard: During the past decade the university has added new fields for rugby and field hockey and the hockey arena underwent a $14.5 million renovation, including a newย 20,000-square-foot addition. The basketball arena is currently being upgraded and will feature a 5,000-square-foot addition. Its cost was lowered by a $1 million gift earlier this year from Harvard graduate and NBA guard Jeremy Lin.

Penn: A $27.4 million gym renovation during 2013 included a practice court for basketball and volleyball, a fencing center, a gymnastics center and indoor workout areas for golf and rowing. The soccer stadium was renovated and new fields constructed for field hockey and the track and field throwing events during 2013 at a cost of $5 million. An 18,000-square-foot strength and conditioning center was built inside the Franklin Field football stadium during 2010, and the menโ€™s and womenโ€™s basketball, lacrosse, soccer and track teams have enjoyed locker room renovations, as have baseball and softball.

Princeton: 2012 saw the opening of a new, lighted field hockey stadium. The Tigers won the national championship that same year. A year later, the lacrosse field received a $5 million facelift.

Yale: The universityโ€™s iconic hockey rink, known as the โ€œYale Whaleโ€ for its curving roof, received a $23.5 million renovation that was finished during 2009 and included a 12,700-square-foot underground extension. The Bulldogs menโ€™s hockey team won the 2013 national championship. Renovations for the schoolโ€™s soccer and lacrosse stadium cost $8 million and were concluded in 2011.
