Goshen, N.H. —
Hermann was an amazing person, loved by anyone who met or dealt with him. His honest and kind demeanor as well as his vast knowledge of the ski industry was a force to be reckoned with. Hermann was sincere, honest and hard working, which are just a few traits that people loved about him. He will be sorely missed by many.
Hermann was predeceased by his parents and younger brother, Gregor, as well as his beloved son Peter Mayer of Hartford, Vt.
He is survived by two remaining brothers who reside in Germany, Eckhardt and Meinrod, and numerous other relatives of his large family. He has also left behind his ‘second’ family; the Ostlers of Hartford, Vt., with whom he spent holidays and vacations for many, many years. Lastly, Hermann leaves behind his life partner and dear friend of 30 years, Lona Elder of Hartford, who was at his side until he died.
A memorial service is being held on Sunday, Dec. 4, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the conference room of the Fairfield Inn and Suites in White River Junction. Any who wish to share in the celebration of Hermann’s life are welcome. There will be food and drink, coffee, tea, etc. There are six rooms being held in Hermann’s name for either Saturday and/or Sunday at special rate for those who may join us from afar.
