Woodstock
The Wasps needed an early wake-up call for Saturday’s trip to Middlebury, but Woodstock responded with a 6-0 victory. Tommy Bissaillon posted a hat trick to front added goals from Owen Coates, Andrew Gubbins and Charles Greene. Field Willis set up two goals, with John Cloud, Riley Shepherd and Greene also assisting. Keaton Piconi posted the shutout in goal.
Woodstock started slowly in Sunday’s visit to Wendell A. Barwood Arena and a date with the Upper Valley Storm, but the Wasps revived for a 4-2 win to sweep the weekend. The Wasps did all of their scoring in the third period, getting goals from Gubbins, Greene, Aiden Yates and Bissaillon.
Rutland
Henry Trimpi and Griffin Piconi led the charge against Rutland with a two-goal game. Michael LaCroix, Thatcher Jaacks and Trey Jones also scored in support of Declan Flynn’s shutout goaltending.
Northshire got the better of the Wasps in a 5-4 decision on Saturday in Manchester, Vt. The hosts scored 20 seconds into the contest, but Woodstock stayed close through a Trimpi hat trick and an assist and a Piconi goal.
South Burlington, Vt.
With regular goaltender Ethan Mello out sick and no alternative available, the Wasps accepted CSB’s offer of a netminder in order to complete the game. Nicholas Lee scored twice for Woodstock, with Dylan DeSchamp, Silas Bohen, Auden Oliver-Yeager, Tristan Black and Camden White also finding the back of the net. DeSchamp, Evan Kurash, Oliver-Yeager and Lee added assists.
On Sunday, Woodstock came up short in a 5-4 loss to Essex in Waterbury despite mounting a late rally from a three-goal deficit. Oliver-Yeager scored twice and DeSchamp and Chase Christiansen added the other goals, with helpers from Ian Schell, Christiansen and Lee. Sebastian Yates moved up from the U12 roster to tend net, aided by defenseman Gavin Huppe.
