Lebanon — A 24-year-old Lebanon man who accidentally shot himself in August while seated in a vehicle near the West Lebanon cemetery has pleaded not guilty to carrying a gun without a license.

Ivan Deutsch appeared in Lebanon District Court on Monday. He was released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail pending his next court hearing.

Lebanon police in September cited Deutsch into court on the misdemeanor charge, saying he didn’t have a permit to carry the .30-caliber semi-automatic pistol, and should have.

Deutsch was attempting to unload the gun when it accidentally went off in his lap. He was rushed to the hospital after the incident.

The date of his next court hearing wasn’t available on Tuesday.
