The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at the Hartford Town Hall on Nov. 16.
The information gathered at the meeting will be used to help agency officials draft both the study and a report to the legislature about the location, which has been the site of at least eight suicides since 2008. The report and recommendations are due to the Legislature in January. Discussions to date have revolved around possible physical changes to the bridge, the installation of lighting and security cameras, and the posting of messaging that could help a person in crisis to access proper resources, all while recognizing the bridge’s status as a popular tourist destination.
Those with questions are asked to call the agency at 802-272-2368.
