Brookline, Mass. — The Dartmouth men’s soccer team got back to its winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Northeastern in a nonleague game on Tuesday night.

After dropping a key Ivy League contest last weekend to Harvard at home, Dartmouth (6-4-5) bounced back with a dominant performance.

Across the pitch, the Big Green faced a familiar foe in Northeastern (5-11) head coach Chris Gbandi, who served as an assistant at Dartmouth for two seasons alongside head coach Chad Riley.

With 29 minutes to play in the first half, Dartmouth’s Justin Donawa lined up for a corner kick and sent the ball into the box where a waiting Wyatt Omsberg knocked in the first goal of the game.

About 15 minutes later, Johnathan Nierenberg added to the Big Green’s lead with his third goal of the season.

Dartmouth keeper James Hickock made six saves for his fourth shutout of the season.

Dartmouth heads to Cornell for a pivotal Ivy League showdown on Saturday.
