Quechee — Nine-kill afternoons from Taylor Paquette and Rachel Seale couldn’t prevent the Mid Vermont Christian School girls volleyball team from dropping its final match of the high school season on Monday.

The Eagles started out well but couldn’t keep up the steam, losing a four-set match to Vermont Commons at the MVCS gym. The final scores were 19-25, 25-20, 26-24, 25-20 in favor of the South Burlington-based Flying Turtles (5-8).

Seale added a team-high nine digs for the Eagles (3-9), while Paquette contributed four blocks and four digs on defense. Emily Jasmin dished out 21 assists to go with seven digs and a pair of kills.

MVCS coach Erin Renniger said the VPA Division I tournament field will be announced today. The Eagles will open play on the road either Wednesday or Thursday.
